Yesterday was my first day completely on my own with the babies.  No husband, no mom, just me and the little ones.  And you know what?  It really couldn't have gone better.  The littler one slept most of the morning, which allowed me to give plenty of attention to Riley, and also made it so we could go to Riley's very first music class!  She loved it, of course, and Jack slept from the moment I put him in the car seat until we got home... not a peep out of him.  SO not used to that, since Riley hated her car seat and cried the moment the car stopped moving!

One of the challenges I anticipated was Riley's nap time.  She needs me to lay with her and sing to her to fall asleep, which sometimes only takes a few minutes, but sometimes it takes a bit longer.  Luckily her nap times are fairly flexible, so I made sure Jackson was fed and asleep before I went in to get Riley to sleep.  She went right to sleep, Jackson stayed asleep, and we all slept for almost 2 hours (me included).  It was AMAZING.  And when we woke up, I made it my goal to get some pictures of my two babies together.  My two big, blue-eyed babies.

I only had a small window where Jack would be so wide awake, and I wanted a picture of the two of them both with eyes open, semi-looking in my direction.  I got two good ones, but probably took a hundred!  Easier said than done taking a picture of a toddler and newborn together!  Riley preferred to just poke him, kiss him "pet" him, and play with his toes.  Yes, she loves his little baby toes.  And her own toes, of course.
toes!
Anyway, the afternoon went just as well as the morning, no real tantrums by the toddler, total easy going behavior by the newborn, and then we packed everybody into the car and picked daddy up from the train station  And in case you are wondering we are very strongly considering getting another car.  Certainly would make my life easier!!

Once daddy was home, I wanted to continue trying to get pictures of my two babies together, only more "posed" ones.  This first one I ALMOST love.  The mom in me loves it, the photographer in me does not.  Riley's eyes are out of focus and it drives me nuts, but it's so darn cute and it was near impossible to get her to stay in this pose AND look at the camera for more than half a second.  So this was the best one I got.

I think I like it in black and white too... can't decide.

And my next favorite... simply because this happens all day long.  Baby gets showered with kisses!

This sweet baby pretty much just laid there and let me take a million pictures of him.  And so I did.  :)

Mark says I have a problem.  I take way too many pictures.  But how could you not with a face like this?
