NEW symptoms? Heartburn, I think. I read a lot about heartburn as a symptom in later pregnancy, and it has finally hit (I think). I have never had heartburn before, so I don't know what it feels like. I expected, well, literally, burning in the heart/chest region. Makes sense, no? Well, I don't have that. Basically what I am feeling is a sort of annoying acidy/burning feeling in my throat. Kind of feels like when you swallow a pill or something but it doesn't quite go down right, combined with a burning-feels-like-I-should-be-breathing-fire kind of thing. I have only felt this way after eating a couple times a day, so I've yet to figure out if there is something specific that brings it on. And really, it's not yet a consistent occurrence so maybe it will just go away as quickly as it came.
Everything else is pretty much the same... feeling pretty good for the most part, not too tired or uncomfortable. My lower back has been starting to ache a bit, but I think that's more due to carrying big one year olds around all day and working in the garden for long hours over the weekends. Now we are realizing we are under a little bit more of a time crunch to get all the outdoor projects done because I don't know how much longer I will be able to do that much work! Who knows. Anyway, still no stretch marks, belly button looks normal, etc etc. Ooh but, one day this week, I woke up and my fingers had gotten swollen overnight and I could barely get my wedding rings off! I had to go the day without wearing them! Now I think they are back to normal size, so maybe it was due to the particularly warm weather we were having. I want to be able to keep wearing my rings as long as possible!
Weight gain this week: 1 pound.
Weight gain overall: 7.5 pounds.
What baby is doing: Moving, A LOT. Sporadically throughout the day, but very consistently at night. She is getting fatter and fatter by the day (in fact, I believe this week alone she gained 6 ounces, although I'm not sure how that works since last week she was supposedly one pound, and this week she is 1 pound 3 ounces according to another book... eh, who knows, it's all an estimate anyway).
24 week picture!
