A fun little weekend.

We had a 3 day weekend over here, and we took full advantage.  Mark won huge husband brownie points by taking Riley to his parents' house both Saturday and Sunday morning so I could sleep as much as I wanted, which was exactly what I did.  We ran family errands, and Riley was sooo good that Mark may or may not have bought her a fire truck.  She LOVES fire trucks.  And she especially loves this one.  AND YES SHE HAS A PONYTAIL!!!

Then today we decided to hop in the car, and make a late afternoon trip to the beach.  Because, why not?

The water was freezing, and it took Riley a while to get used to walking in the sand.  She spent the first 30 minutes walking on her heels, a but unsure of this new big surface.  But as soon as the sand castle building begun, she was golden.  Totally into it.

She's pretty funny with sand.  She loves to play with it, but doesn't particularly love it being on her hands or feet.  So as soon as she's done playing, she runs over to me or Mark, and then wants to wipe her sandy hands on our clothes.  She even will yell out "MAMA wiiiiiipe!!" and then follow it up by smearing me with sand.  Needless to say I was covered.  Getting the sand off her feet was a bit more of a mission. :)

By the end she was totally into it, which is good because Mark is determined to get that little one in the water eventually.  Ha.  I wish him luck.

My mom gets here tomorrow, which is good because I feel like baby #2's arrival is getting much closer!  I've been having a lot more cramping/contractions, and I feel it's only a matter of time.  I was guessing Wednesday or Thursday would be the day, but we shall see!  It would be nice to hold out a little longer and give our stuff from the US a few more days to arrive, but that's probably just wishful thinking anyway.

Oh and just to finish off, because I haven't shared this one yet... Just look at the curls!!  And no I don't plan on cutting her hair anytime soon.  No way.  It took her 19 months to get this hair, no way am I cutting any of it off!

Less than one week until baby #2 gets here!!  Let the countdown begin!
