At 6 months, he's rolling all over the place, and can scoot and arch his back and manage to get himself all over the place! He can sit up, but still topples over fairly easily. He weighs about 18 pounds and is wearing 9-12 month clothes! He's not crawling yet, but soon. Oh so soon.
I'm having a really hard time with how fast Cole is growing. He's already 6 months old and it feels like he was just born!!! It's flying by, and before I know it he will be ONE. At 6 months, he's rolling all over the place, and can scoot and arch his back and manage to get himself all over the place! He can sit up, but still topples over fairly easily. He weighs about 18 pounds and is wearing 9-12 month clothes! He's not crawling yet, but soon. Oh so soon. He loves his bouncer and jumps like craaaaazy. He hates solid foods. He just started being sort of okay with carrots, but hates everything else he's tried. He much prefers nursing! He is starting to sleep better, but still not great. He takes 3 naps a day, but still wakes up many times at night. He adores his big siblings, but especially Riley. He gives her the biggest smiles!! He loves to be held, but doesn't particularly love any of the baby carriers we have. He likes to go for walks, likes when I sing to him, especially Row Row Row Your Boat and Itsy Bitsy Spider. He's a very chatty little dude, always babbling about something! He loves all things crinkly- papers, packet of baby wipes, packages of anything... he much prefers those things over any toys we have! I think he looks JUST like Riley as a baby. I didn't see it before, but now I totally do! I need to get some side-by-side pictures going! And not to forget about these two... our new backyard has some pretty sweeeeeeet afternoon light, I must say!!

There are so many little things I want to remember about my little monkeys as they are RIGHT now. Riley is now 4 years almost 9 months old. Fast approaching 5 years old! I just signed her up for kindergarten for next year. Can't even believe it!! Riley is one pretty amazing kid, and sometimes I just want to freeze time, just for a little bit. Riley's favorite things to do right now include: any and all art projects, but especially drawing and learning to draw new things. I also often find her sitting at the table writing every word she knows how to write. She will make cards that read "To Mama and Daddy and Jackson and Cole" with some drawings followed by "Form Riley" (always form, not from). She asks me how to spell a million different words so she can write them down. She loves to draw all kinds of creative things and is so proud when she shows them to me! Riley is an AMAZING little reader. It still blows me away. I can hand her a kids book that she's never seen before, and she can read it, just like that. She might need some help with a few words, but mostly she's pretty incredible! She absolutely loves to read, and would have me read to her or her read to me all day! Riley is really into the pretend play phase of life, and is constantly imaging different scenarios and games. She loves to play "house" where Jackson is the dad, she's the mom, and somehow I end up being the "sister." :) She loves dressing up, and is frequently prancing around wearing various dresses and shoes and accessories. She still totally and completely adores her baby brother. Wants to be around him all the time, hold him hug him, touch him, give him toys, and now she LOVES that she can make him laugh. :) She's a pretty good big sister! She loves preschool and all her friends, particularly her boyfriend (?) Hudson, although she refers to him as her girlfriend, so... lol. She is really excited about playing soccer with her daddy these days, and is looking forward to learning how to ride her bike without training wheels if her parents can get their act together and actually teach her.
Fave things right now: Food: cheese sandwich Drink: Milk TV show: Sid the Science Kid Toy: Legos Song: Uptown Funk Book: The Book with No Pictures She asks questions all the time. Jackson asks "why why why" but Riley asks things like... "Why don't oranges have a core like apples?" "How often do we have earthquakes?" "Why do only bees have stingers?" Love that kid and her inquisitive mind. I was going to write about all three kids buuuuuuut then Jackson and Cole BOTH woke up crying sooooo it will have to wait for another day. Duty calls. |
