November.  A month late.

I may be late, but I'm catching up pretty fast!  A quick review of some parts of November life.

Preschool picture is still a daily thing around here (well, at least on the days we have preschool).  I thought it would be way harder this year with TWO kids to take pictures of, but it's no big deal and it's something I'm so glad we do!
Picture
Jacky is really into making music with spoons.  Hence the pile of spoons right by him.

It's funny to me how kids can have all the coolest toys in the world, and then they get their hands on a box, and it's the best thing everrrrrr.  I came down from putting the baby down for a nap and just saw feet sticking out of a box.  Of course I told her not to move so I could grab my camera.
Picture
Jacky is still obsessed with Cole.  Still frequently pokes him in the eyes.
Picture
Cole is growing and growing and growing.  He gets cuter each and every day!
Picture
He likes his playgym now, so that buys me a few minutes of hands free time!  Until Jacky spots him, that is, because then he wants to lay next to him and touch him and occasionally smother him.... sigh.

Not sure where she learned her posing and her camera faces she makes, but she sure is a little beauty!  This was at a cool park in Berkeley we went to on the most warm beautiful November evening!

I thiiiiiink that boy might be too big for this carseat.  Just maybe.
Picture
Occasionally (very, very occasionally) our bed is made, and this baby is awake and happy, and it's still daylight.  So when that happens, clearly I need to take a few pictures.

Riley Bug still adores her baby brother.  She likes that he grabs her hands, and can try to hold things, and that he will suck on her finger if he can get it into his mouth.  She likes to talk to him and sing to him and hold him.  She thinks it's funny that he gets stinky little hands from sucking on them while wearing little scratch mittens.  She pretty much adores him.

So one fall day, i decided the weather was so good, and the leaves were so beautiful, that we NEEDED to go take some pictures.  Mark was less than excited, and we had to wake Jack up from a nap in order to be there before the sun set, and by the time we made it Cole had fallen asleep, so we were kind of a mess.  As usual, Riley was extremely cooperative, and Jacky was completely not into it.
Picture
If I remember correctly, Mark was doing something ridiculous right behind me, which was the ONLY way we were able to get anything but a scowl.
Picture
But pictures of the kids together?? Forget it.  Riley crazy faces, Jack trying to take his shirt off, and Jacky poking Cole right in the eye. Ohhhh well.
Picture
That's why I will continue to hire OTHER photographers to take pictures of my children together.  Much less stressful for me!  Two kids is much more manageable photography wise. ;)

One day when I went to go pick Jack up from preschool he was the only kid in his class still wearing his crown.  He was so proud of it and it was so super cute!  He loves preschool so so much, which makes me so happy!
Picture
And then there's Cole... not participating in tummy time.  Zero effort.  Just chillin.
Picture
And again with the attempts at a kid picture.  On Thanksgiving.  Hey at least I got all three kids in the same frame!!
Picture
And when Grandma brings an elf and a Rudolph hat, you obviously have to take pictures.
Picture
This month Cole has pretty much been a horrible sleeper.  He wants to be held constantly, or he wants to be nursing allll night long. Which pretty much makes my evenings all about baby and keeping him asleep!  This was a late night diaper change on mama's bed.  Just little moments I want to remember.  The little toes.  The swaddle blanket, the phone with the white noise.  This kid loves his white noise!

As hard as the nights are these days, I know how fast it goes and I'm trying to just soak it all in.  I mean, he's already getting so big!  I swear he was JUST born!

Time for Catch Up!!

Before the new year I WILL get caught up here!  Then I can post CURRENT happenings for once.  Right now 2 big kids are in bed, my husband is working on getting the baby to sleep, so here I find myself with some "me time."  I have a million things to do, but I decided this little 'ole blog needs some work!

So without further....rambling, I'm going to get all caught up.  October, November, and December!  Ready go.

OCTOBER.  Apparently I took SO MANY pictures this month!  The weather in October was AMAZING, so we tried to take advantage as much as possible.  Orrrrrr I was just trying to kick the big kids out the backyard to get like 2 seconds of peace and quiet.

This kid.  Gosh I love her so.

Aunt Jennie came into town.  Which Riley knows automatically means she gets to paint nails.  Mommy doesn't do nail polish, but Aunt Jennie most definitely does!!

And this guy.  Man he brings new meaning to the world "WILD."  Full of energy, all boy, loves to run and jump and throw ALL OF THE THINGS all of the time.  Sigh.  But man he's cute!  Even if he does need a haircut...still.
Picture
Big kids are full of love for Cole, all the time.  I am pretty lucky in that respect.

Jackson is hilarious.  He loves to wear Riley's shoes.  And not just any shoes, he loves her sparkly shoes the most.  He's worn them to preschool on multiple occasions :)  His teachers LOVE them.
Picture
Riley has decided she's totally happy to cooperate for pictures as long as she gets to make a silly face.  So pretty much every other photo I have of her is some kind of crazy silly face.

Jacky still wants nothing to do with pictures (aside from our morning preschool picture) and is hard to convince to stay still and look at me.  But I manage to sneak in a few here and there still.
Picture
Since Cole was born we seem to like to leave things to the last minute.  So a few days before Halloween we headed out to the pumpkin patch.  Kids had a blast, picked their pumpkins, and Cole slept the whole time.  Win-win-win.
Picture
In his second month of life, Cole alternated between being totally laid back and happy to just chill, and extremely high maintenance and wanting to be held constantly.  Part of his "chilled out" behavior meant when he was put down to do tummy time, he made absolutely zero effort to lift his head.  Totally content to just lay there and relax.  Or scream. :)
Picture
Not gonna lie, I kind of look forward to the day when carving pumpkins is not 99% done by the parents.  Pretty sure I stayed up for a few hours AFTER the kids had gone to bed to create their jack-o-lantern masterpieces.  So silly.

So.  Halloween costumes this year.  Riley made a big deal about choosing her costume, and she wanted to be Izzy (the girl pirate from the show Jake and the Neverland Pirates).  I got all the pieces to her costume, she wore it to preschool, all was good.  Then at the last minute, before going out trick-or-treating, she decided she didn't want to wear it anymore, went into her dress up closet, and came out with this!  A bunny!  Crazy girl.
Picture
Jackson had ZERO interest in dressing up.  Took a lot of convincing for this to happen, and he took it off shortly thereafter and we compromised by having him wear a minion sweatshirt when we went trick-or-treating.  He LOVED trick-or-treating and getting to ring doorbells and collect candy, even if he couldn't eat any of it.  He would ring the door bell and when the door opened Riley would say "trick-or-treat!!" and Jacky would yell "Hello!!!"  Love that kid.
Picture
Daddy tried to pretend he went out of his way to get a costume... except that's what he wears every day at work, so that doesn't count!  The kids liked it though.  Coley was an unimpressed dino/alligator, and he stayed with Grandma and Grandpa while we took the bigger two trick-or-treating.  Next year buddy, next year.
Picture
And that's our October!!  Only two months behind!
