Daddy's first cuddle with our sweet baby boy! You should have seen how thrilled he was, so glad I had my camera with me to capture this moment!

My little black (and white) baby cow. So sad Halloween is over, but REALLY excited for Thanksgiving and Christmas!!!
I haven't participated in an I Heart Faces photo challenge for a LONG time. But this week's theme is "tickled pink" and I thought this would be a perfect week to get back into the photo challenges! So here's my little princess, smelling her pink flower, one of her new favorite activities! Anytime we see flowers we MUST stop immediately so she can smell them... Which basically means shoving her entire face into it!
This weeks words: Architecture, Rimmed with Light, Toes/Feet, This is my Favorite, and Shade(s) (1) Architecture Clearly this is from the archives (ya know, with the Christmas tree and all) but I didn't have any recent ones, so this was the best I could do. This was from our trip to San Fran (City Hall) over the holidays. (2) Rimmed with Light My two favorite people in the whole world! (3) Toes/feet I had three photo shoots this weekend, and this is one from a family shoot down at the beach. Check out that little man's shoes!! (4) This is my favorite Another shoot down at the beach. I love how this shot turned out, even if I did cut off the bottom of her legs (oops). (5) Shade We were sitting in the shade and all of a sudden this beam of light came right onto Riley's face, so she was illuminated and looked like a little angel baby! Oh also? I now have a photography facebook page, which you can see HERE. And if you like it, would you mind "liking" it? My goal is to get 100 "likes" and I'm only at 27, so I've got a ways to go!! And feel free to send me a link to your facebook page if you have one! Thanks so much!
Finally, this week, I'm on top of it! This week's themes were: High key, bedroom, something tiny, off in the distance, and striped. Here's my interpretations: (1) High key- to be honest, I didn't even know what this was, but after a little bit of searching (thank you google) I figured it out. Not really sure that this is exactly high key, but maybe it is? This was actually from my newborn shoot two weeks ago, but I've been missing Scavenger Hunt Sundays for the past two weeks so I think this still counts. :) (2) Bedroom Ohhhhh Riley. This is her, in her room at nap time. Obviously not napping. (3) Something tiny This is from my newborn shoot last weekend. I had a ton of photos of this tiny baby, but I think this was my favorite one of the day! (4) Off in the distance. From the maternity shoot I had (she's looking "off on the distance" right?). (5) Striped. Striped shirt (not seen) plus striped sweatshirt plus striped socks = superbly put together outfit. :) All we needed was stripes on her hat!
Linking up to share my top 5 photos of Riley so far this year. Definitely a tough choice, but here's what I came up with... This one just totally sums up Riley right now. Wanting to walk everywhere, and sticking her little tongue out! And the theme at Trendy Treehouse this week is "hands." This is from my newborn shoot this past weekend. He's just 6 days old!
I was kind of disappointed I didn't participate in Scavenger Hunt Sunday this week, so I thought I'd at least try a couple other photo challenges! First, the paper mama's theme is GREEN. Then, I've never done this one before, but over at paper heart camera it's touch-up tuesday. I had a newborn shoot last weekend, and both the shooting and editing of newborn photos is new to me. Here's the SOOC image. This was taken on day one when baby just would NOT sleep! It's a bit dark, and her skin was really red and splotchy, and peeling. I increased brightness and exposure, and then ran the coffee shop's baby powder room action on it, which allowed me to remove some of the redness of her skin, lighten up and smooth out her skin tones, and sharpen her eyes. Here's the end result.
These weeks are just flying by lately! I feel like it was JUST Sunday, and here we are again. This week's words are (1) Diptych (2) Book (3) Fill in the Blank (4) A taste of Italy and (5) Reminders. (1) Diptych This little one loves her daddy. She cries in the morning when he leaves for work. She kicks her legs and flaps her arms with excitement when he gets home. She chases him around the house. When she wakes up in the morning and I bring her in our bed, she goes straight for her daddy. And I think he kinda likes her too. :) (2) Book She is absolutely obsessed with books. Probably her favorite toys! (3) When I think about how WINTER is in the AIR, I just have to PUT RILEY IN THE CUTEST WARMEST HATS EVER. Is that a stretch? I dunno, I was at a loss... (4) A taste of Italy Welp, let's be honest, this has almost nothing to do with the prompt. But I ran out of time, and this was at least a photo of her first taste of some baby puff thing, so it was the best I got. I figured it was better than skipping it entirely, right? (5) Reminders. Riley wants to remind you to brush your teeth every day. Or "tooth", as the case may be. This is her new favorite part of our bedtime routine. Mostly because she likes to eat the toothpaste.
I haven't participated in a few weeks, but I'm back! This week's words were: Capture the Sky, Everyday, Furry, Life and Blurred. Here are my interpretations! Capture the Sky I took a whole bunch of the sky on our way home from our weekend adventure, but they were all kind of... unoriginal? Boring? Not sure, nothing too exciting. Don't get me wrong, the sky looked beautiful, but I just felt kind of blah about all of them. That is, until I was staring out the window and saw the sky in the rearview mirror, and thought, hmm, now that's a bit different... So I went with it! Everyday Every day we let Riley play/roll/crawl around naked. We started doing it to help with her diaper rash, but she apparently loves being naked, so we just go with it. Every day. Oh yeah and? This is the little face I get to play with and smooch all day long. Every. single. day. I am so lucky. Furry I take a photo of Riley on her rocking chair with her Ellie every month. And it gets harder and harder to get a good picture of her. She loves sucking on her furry little friend! Life This weekend we drove 4 hours north so Riley could meet her great grandma for the very first time. She turns 91 years old next week. 9-1!! That is a whole lot of life! And she was absolutely smitten with Riley, and I just love this photo. Blurry She loves to walk, and she is FAST! Fast = blurry legs!
