Before we go...

We leave for the airport in about an hour, but I just wanted to share my re-done, finished wedding album with you.  I did it in photoshop/shutterfly, and total cost was just under $100.  Beats the $500 price tag of getting one professionally designed!  Enjoy!

We're married!

So the wedding was exactly one week ago, and I would say it was a huge success!  It could not have gone any better, and i think our guests had a pretty good time (the open bar definitely helped!!)

Now Mark and I (well, mostly me...) are anxiously waiting to get the pictures back from our photographer (who was awesome, by the way).  The day after the wedding we spent 6 hours with him taking more photos, and let's just say Mark and I both ended up in the ocean... yes, wearing my wedding dress and his rented tux!  As soon as we get the pictures from him, we will either post them or post the link so you can view them online.

One week (pretty much)...

One week until wedding day, and FINALLY, I am running out of things to do.  Of course I did manage to get really sick starting Monday, and it's been going downhill since then... If it is possible to pull an ab muscle by coughing, then I'm pretty sure I've done that.  Luckily I still have a week to get back to full health before the big day.  Bad news... Mark is bound to catch it from me, which means the worst is yet to come for him...

While I am not nervous at all for the wedding, I AM starting to get nervous for the bachelorette party...mostly because April Wall is partly in charge of planning it! Hopefully it's not too too wild, I have visions of strippers, shots, and crazy outfits.... yikes!

On another front, we have put a verbal offer on a house in Whitby, New Zealand, so we are waiting to hear back from the listing agent...if the seller likes our price, then we will be putting everything down on paper and praying to God that the exchange rate works in our favor when we send money over!!  And, lucky for all you people, this house has 4 bedrooms which means we have plenty of room for visitors!!

Two and a half weeks to go

Ok so now there are less than 3 weeks 'til the big day, and things are getting CRAZY.  I've already managed to forget to pay 3 vendors on time, dropped a table number picture frame onto another picture frame which knocked over a vase (which broke, of course)... Then, Mark decided to walk around the apartment in the dark, and bumped into the table which had about 20 porcelain mini-vases on it, and one knocked into another and before you knew it it was a serious domino effect with all the vases rolling off the table onto the floor... Somehow, not a single one broke.  A miracle.

What else... oh I took my little ring bearer (Jamie, 2 1/2) to Memorial Church to practice walking down the aisle, and now Mark and I are taking bets on what we think will happen come the big day... Options: (1) He will get scared and cry for Mommy.  It won't matter that he can see her, he will all of a sudden have lead in his shoes and be unable to move.  (2) He will be so pumped that he has an audience, and he will sprint in his little tux down the aisle, forgetting that the aisle is sloped downward,  thus gaining too much momentum and clipping his toe on the carpet and taking a dive face first... tears.  Lots and lots of tears.  (3)  He will shyly walk down the aisle like he is supposed to, being his cute little angel self, and THEN just when the ceremony starts, he will jump across the pews, running away from Ashley (his mom) with a huge smirk on his face.  And when she grabs him to take him outside, he will yell NOOOO I want Mimi!!!!! in protest.  All pretty good options I think.  i wouldn't want the ceremony to be boring!

All in all, I can't WAIT until I drop all the stuff off at the venue, pay all the bills, and just get to enjoy the wedding day with my new husband and all our family and friends!

Bridal shower!

This past Sunday was the bridal shower hosted by Ashley Montulli, and it was awesome!  The shower was at her house in Menlo Park, and she set up a huge table for 22 people in her living room, all beautifully decorated with linens, flowers and balloons.  The food was catered and was delicious, and it was so nice to see all my friends!

Ashley did manage to convince me that we needed to play at least one bridal shower game, and it was actually pretty funny.  We divided into teams and had a contest to see who could make the best wedding dress out of toilet paper... unfortunately my team did not win, but I still think we had the very best dress.  All in all it was a great day, with a whole lot of great people.  Ashley really knows how to throw a party. :)

First Post!

Less than 6 weeks until wedding day!  Things are getting crazier and crazier, as expected.  It seems like an endless amount of meetings, cutting papers, gluing things, and inputting info into an excel spreadsheet.  And Mark is doing an AMAZING job of sitting on the couch and cheering me on.  But in the end it will all be worth it because the wedding day is going to be so much fun!  Now if only we could get everyone to RSVP on time...

On another front, Mark and I also just redecorated our apartment...  seems a little odd since we are moving out in a couple months, but we didn't really redecorate for aesthetic reasons.  Oh no.  We don't have a/c in our apartment, so our place has been consistently 90 degrees or so, and the windows in our bedroom pretty much open onto the train tracks, so we can't leave those open or it literally sounds like our bed is about to get run over by the train.  So, we moved our bed into the living room, and all our other furniture into the bedroom, which has now been named "the storage room."   We might as well just use our bathroom as storage as well since the toilet doesn't work...  All in all, we seem to have picked a winner when we were apartment hunting.  We move to New Zealand August 3rd, so hopefully we can last that long.  Otherwise, we are moving in to Casa Montulli. :)
