Confessions

Ok, I have a confession to make.  I was sorting through the stuff in the nursery (in order to procrastinate and avoid doing all the useful things that need to be done in our house), and I'm a little embarrassed to say... our baby has SIXTY pairs of socks.  Is that not ridiculous... I mean, we did get a few packs of socks as gifts, and I bought most of these used in that one bulk lot of things I got a while back, but SIXTY!!  Oops.  I think I have a problem.  Our little one is going to need to wear like 3 pairs a day in order for this to be even somewhat worthwhile... and even then, she'll never get to wear some of these.  It's just, they are so small, they barely take up any space, so we have a little bin full of them, but really that amounts to 60 pairs.  So, if you feel inclined to buy our baby a gift... maybe no more socks??  Although, those little socks are just so cute...

I decided to further investigate how overboard I have gone, and I won't share all the ridiculous numbers with you, but let's just say we have more than enough of... everything clothes related.  For some reason I had it in my mind that we didn't have very many hats for our baby... well, we have 25.  Only two sun hats though!  And the things is, hats don't really get all that dirty for the most part, so it's not like you really NEED a ton of them.  But again, they are just so cute.

Ok and one more category... shoes.  I, of all people, should know how annoying baby shoes can be.  I look after babies, who have shoes, and really I only ever put shoes on him if we are going out (and now that he's walking, it makes a little more sense).  But again, shoes are just so cute, and hard to resist buying (plus other people love to buy baby shoes, especially my sister Jennie).  Anyway, I counted up the shoes we have (and these range from little tiny to big enough for a 1+ year old) and we have.... 20 pairs.  Oops.  Again, I did not personally buy any of these new, so it's not like a spent a fortune on them.  But still...  I think I have a problem.

I also have an abundance of little sleepers and onesies.  Basically I have enough clothes for probably 6 babies.  Oh well!! At least they are small and don't take up much room, otherwise we would be in big trouble. :)
