Anyway, some pictures!
Barely. Today, for the first time since December, I put on my cleats and played soccer. 7 weeks after giving birth to Riley. See, I have been running for about 2 weeks now, but the longest I'd run for was 20 minutes, and I had not gotten even close to a sprint. And I definitely had not kicked a soccer ball. But the team I used to play for had a game today, and while I could only go to half of it, I decided, why not? Eesh. Let me tell you. This body of mine is hurtin'. A lot. I did manage to make it through the game without any serious injury (except maybe my pride, since I'm a little rusty, to say the least), but I will definitely be feeling it tomorrow. Or now. Or for the next week. But let me tell you, exercise post-baby is definitely going to be a challenge. I mean, going for a jog or what-not is no big deal, but playing in a soccer game?? It requires so much planning and preparation! I mean, seeing how I'm the sole food source for our little bubba, it makes things tricky. Like today, for example. I had to time it so that (1) I fed her right before we left and (2) I had pumped a bottle for her for while I was unable to feed her and (3) I made sure both boobies were completely emptied of milk before going to my game. And we had this great idea to bring Riley to the game, because Mark wanted to see me play, which would have been no big deal except for the weather at my game was horrible!! When we left our house, the skies were clear and there was no wind. But when we got to the game, it was super windy, cold, and misting. Mark was luckily able to find a sheltered spot, which was actually surprisingly warm, but that didn't stop some random woman from telling him off for having a baby out in this weather. And also telling him I shouldn't be exercising because my milk could dry up. Everybody has an opinion... and some like to share. But Riley clearly wasn't too affected by the whole ordeal, she slept the entire time! Of course that didn't stop me from worrying about her the entire time!! Anyway, some pictures! And another one. These are straight out of the camera, her eyes really look like that. :) And her new outfit from her Grandma Risa! Riley has been one sleepy baby lately! The past couple nights she has slept for 4 hours, woken up to eat, slept for 3 or 4 more hours, woken to eat, then slept for another 2-3! And she's been sleeping pretty well during the day as well, so we've been able to avoid the early evening fussiness a bit! Basically as soon as she yawns once, I either lay down and nap with her or put her in her crib, and she almost always falls asleep without a fight. Now if only she could sleep a little bit longer at night, we'd be set! All in good time, I suppose!
