She's moving! Which means I can no longer leave her anywhere even remotely elevated for even a second (ya know, I used to leave her in the middle of the bed while I ran and got something from another room since she would have to roll like 5 times in 30 seconds to fall off, and she hadn't even rolled once so I thought she was pretty safe). But now, looks like that might not be a good idea anymore. Riley rolls consistently from tummy to back, and has done so for a while now. And in fact, I think she's even starting to LIKE tummy time now that she knows she's capable of ending it whenever she pleases. And today, at 4 months and a week old, she successfully rolled from back to tummy. Once. And she tried and tried to do it again, but once was all we got for today. But she is definitely trying. She gets especially close when she's trying to reach for the paci and for her favorite toys. Sooooo close. It is wild to see how much more she can do each and every day. Take tummy time, for example. Look at her holding up her head now (even if she is giving me the stare-down)! Just a week ago she would protest and suck on her hands (face down) until she rolled over or I picked her up. Now? She rules. And she's getting better at sitting (for a few seconds), and standing (assisted), and playing with toys, and she squeals all. the. time. That is, when her fist is not jammed in her mouth... I am lovin' it (the squealing, not the fist jamming)! Ooh ooh AND. Last night she only woke up ONCE. In bed fast asleep at 8, up to nurse at 12:30, asleep again until 5:15! Sadly, she was up for the day at 5:15, which is so painfully early, but baby steps... Things just keep getting better and better every day!
