Hopefully he cooperates with me again today! The bigger mission is going to be trying to get Riley in some photos!
I had all these visions of the fabulous newborn photos I was going to take. I have the cutest hats and wraps and blankets, my new back drop stand, some props, a sling.... all of which are in the container that has not yet arrived. And who knows when it will arrive. So, I had to make do with what I have here, which is not much. Also, being a newborn photographer is hard, but taking your OWN newborn's photos? Much, much harder. Not only are you in charge of set-up and camera setting and posing and soothing, you are in charge of feeding and changing and clean-up and all that good stuff. Plus, get too close to that sleepy baby and all he smells is MILK. Kiss that awesome pose you just got him in goodbye! Oh and plus there's the limited time frame you have to get this done while the toddler naps... so we're going to do this in phases to try and get the shots I want. Here's some from our first attempt. He was not quite 5 days old, and we were met with an unforeseen challenge... his umbilical cord hasn't fallen off yet, which is no big deal, but the end of it is quite rough and was clearly very uncomfortable when he was on his belly, which made all my poses with him on his belly nearly impossible and not even worth trying at this stage. So we'll wait and try those in a few days.
Hopefully he cooperates with me again today! The bigger mission is going to be trying to get Riley in some photos!

Is there a way to subscribe to your blog for updates? I didn't see one, maybe because it's not a google site? Thanks.
