Now, this is not the layout I had originally planned for the room, but it turns out the bed is actually too big to go where I wanted it to go, so we had to improvise. And I had already decorated the walls for the originally planned layout, but oh well, I think it still works. So here's the view from the door...
Riley has been in her own "bed" in her own room since we moved back to NZ... But we were waiting on her real bed to get here, as well as some of her toys and books and clothes and other furniture, so her room was sort of a disaster zone. But last week the final missing piece of the room arrived (the headboard to her bed), and I was finally able to get her room all put together. And if I do say so myself, it turned out AMAZING. I absolutely love it, and I'm pretty sure she does too! Now, this is not the layout I had originally planned for the room, but it turns out the bed is actually too big to go where I wanted it to go, so we had to improvise. And I had already decorated the walls for the originally planned layout, but oh well, I think it still works. So here's the view from the door... And the bed!!! Now, see the comforter is folded all the way down by the foot of the bed?... that's because she only wanted to have the soft cupcake blanket on her bed, not the comforter, so we compromised and it's staying at the foot of the bed for decoration. :) She hates sleeping with blankets over her anyway, so it would pretty much just be for show regardless. Silly girl. Too bad I put the cupcake blanket upside down, huh? The wall letters were the same as in her previous room, I just added the pink stars to match her new room. She loves laying in her bed and going "R! I! L! E! Y!... Riley!" This is her little reading corner, which was a happy accident as a result of the new room arrangement. Grandma bought her that seat, and she's got some favorite books that she can read whenever she wants. I'm thinking about putting a little bulletin board up in that empty space as a place for her to hang her artwork... we'll see. More wall art above the bed... missing one picture, I haven't decided which one to print and hang in there, I'm thinking one of her and Jackson. The table was moved in form the lounge, and I just bought that cute little lamp a few weeks ago. Then we have her book and toy wall... She has a LOT of books, and the ones up on the shelves are her special books, plus I just like the way they look! And guess who slept in her own big girl bed all by herself for 11 hours straight last night... RI RI!!
