While not technically her first, since she was like 8 days old last year, it's her first 4th of July in the US, so her first celebrated 4th of July. It was pretty low key, but fun none-the-less. It started off with a visit to the local park to watch the dog parade. And Riley was in love. She LOVES dogs, and so of course she loved the dog parade. She chased those little doggies all around and laughed and squealed and had a lot of fun. We couldn't stay too long since the little one needed a nap, but we had fun while we were there! Then since it was such a nice day, of course we went back outside and into the pool for a little swim with daddy. The look Riley gave me when I said, "Look at mama!" This weekend, in true American style, Riley had her very first hot dog. And you know what? It is now definitely her new favorite food. She devoured that thing, I think she would have eaten two whole ones if I had let her. You know what else was a first this weekend? Sparklers. The little one was fast asleep by fireworks time, so we decided to show her some sparklers before bed to see what she thought. She sort of liked it, but wasn't too thrilled that she couldn't touch it or do it herself. But all in all, we had a fabulous 4th of July, and I hope you did too!

We thought about doing sparklers with Mason but decided not to just for that reason - too much fun to resist trying to touch and getting mad when he couldn't! LOL
