I know all you US people have been getting some not-so-great weather. Lots of snow, some rain, and you are looking forward to spring. But that's kind of to be expected in the winter, no? But here in New Zealand? It's SUMMER. So this kind of weather? Not cool.
I mean, it's still pretty warm, a little muggy even, but it was raining SO hard today, and the high speed winds didn't help any. But on the upside... winter weather means we can wear winter hats in the middle of summer. Ahh yes. I LOVE winter hats (for the baby).
We braved the horizontal rain and decided to go out and do a little shopping, which proved to be very entertaining for many many customers. Riley has discovered this new noise, it's sort of a growl combined with a grunt, that makes unsuspecting people stop in their tracks to try and see what wild animal might be lurking... aaaaand then they laugh when they discover it's just my baby. Who's wearing this hat, while smiling and grunt/growling.
And this hat is actually awesome because not only is it warm, it provides many many minutes of entertainment while she sucks on those little balls of fluff at the end.
Yup. Sometimes winter days in the middle of summer are just what we need.
Love the hat, but here's to hoping for a rain-less tomorrow. We had plans to go to either the zoo or the beach, neither of which is exactly fun in the rain, ya know?
