Riley made a big discovery today. She has been very interested in toys lately, grabbing them and holding on to them...
But today... oh today she figured out that not only can she hold her toys, but she can PUT THEM IN HER MOUTH.
And all of a sudden her world got a lot more interesting. And I got a lot more free time. :) Toys are no longer just fun things to look at and swat. They are also soooooo yummy.
As a result, I have officially moved EVERYTHING out of her crib. They say nothing should be in the crib except for the mattress and the baby, and I never really listened to that. Mostly because at first, not even the baby was in the crib, so it was really more for decoration anyway. And then, even when she was in the crib, she was wrapped in a blanket, and didn't grab on to anything else, and she also didn't really move, so she had stuffed animals galore hanging out at the foot of her bed. But now, she grabs onto everything and it goes straight in the mouth. This includes blankets, stuffed animals, anything... so they now pose certain safety hazards in her crib while she sleeps. So out they go. And she looks so lonely in there without her entourage of toys and animals! But, it's all in the name of safety, so we'll save the animals and toys for play time.
